On April 8, my shop was the featured event of the BraeBurn Ladies Association luncheon at the BraeBurn Country Club in Houston. I had a great time and I must say the food was to die for!
These ladies are outfitted from vintage fashions from my shop. The lady on the left is modeling a vintage mid 60's spring coat, accessorized with a black 1940's hat and a vintage 50's black clutch that I embellished with vintage elements.
The lady on the right chose a classic 60's lime green jacket / dress. It fit her so well! She added a vintage wicker handbag and a vintage pale pink hat with flowers.
These ladies looked amazing in the fashions. And all of you know how I love to "play dress up"! It was a fun event with delightful ladies and an amazing lunch!
A big thanks to my good friend, Kathy Meusborn, for helping me out in setting up and taking down and being there for me. Another big thank you to Laura for the opportunity to showcase my shop. And lastly, thanks to the shoppers and new customers from this event.
Oh, what a fine time to party it was during the Great Gatsby era! The Roaring 20's surely had some great dress styles to wear, don't you agree?.
The recent remake of the movie, The Great Gatsby, based on the novel by F. Scott Fitgerald, has brought back awareness of the great clothing styles that women wore in the 20's. Oh, they were just fab!
While I don't actually have 20's aged clothing (the fabric just doesn't last well through time), the Great Gatsby style vintage dresses I do have are to die for!
I have loads more vintage dresses to look at and you'll just love the hats, fascinators, purses and other accessories that will give your outfit the perfect pizzazz!
Stop by and shop a while. You'll find the perfect dress for that 20's theme party you're invited to.
I just love when customers send in their pics of the things they bought in my shop, Camille's in Old Town Spring. This young lady is just pretty in pink (tee hee) in this beautiful vintage prom dress she bought. I just know she had a great time at the party she was going to. Don't you?
If you buy something from my shop, please send me a picture so I can share you with the world!
I hope y'all had a wonderful Christmas. I enjoyed all the friendly shoppers looking for Christmas gifts for the special ones in their lives. I hope they enjoyed the homemade cookies I had throughout the season. I know I ate a few too many.
I'm excited about the New Year that's coming up so soon. I just know 2012 will be a fabulous year for everyone. I'll be clearing out the Christmas items and bringing in some new antique painted furniture that I've been saving. You'll just love the global chic colors and the shabby styles of this antique painted furniture.
I have a great selection of vintage women's coats. You know we still have some cold days to get through, even though Spring and Houston, Texas are balmy compared to up North. You may as well look chic and stay warm in these darling vintage coats.
I watched The Help again recently. I just love the vintage clothing that's in the movie. If you do too, stop by and check out the great vintage dresses and accessories in my shop. Vintage is so classy!
Anyway, have a Happy New Year and stop by and say Hi. You know I'll love to see you!
I have to tell y'all how shocked I was to get calls from friends about my picture and a story about my shop, Camille's, in the Houston Chronicle. A nice young man stopped by a bit ago and chatted with me (and you know I love to chat) and took some pictures and I thought, well, that was nice. Well, yes, that was nice. He did a very nice story about my antique furniture and home decor and vintage clothing shop which is located in Old Town Spring, TX. He told a nice story about me and took a nice picture.
Maybe you saw this article? How cool was this!!
